September 21-22: Chesapeake Cowboys Grand Finale

1 p.m. at Brew River Restaurant in Salisbury, MD. Boat Docking, also known as the "Water Rodeo," is considered a water sport in which work boats and charter boats compete within their divisions to go from point “A” to get to point “B” and execute a task of tie/lasso of poles for a timed competition. September 22: Eastport Oktoberfest and 12 oz. Beer Can Regatta

The Chesapeake Outdoor Group will hold its annual 12 oz. Beer Can Regatta at Eastport Oktoberfest, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Eastport Democratic Club in Annapolis. Grab your boating friends and create sailing vessels out of beer cans then race them for bragging rights. There will also be live music by Dublin 5, rubber duck races, food and beverages, and more. This event is family and pet friendly. This event benefits the SPCA and the Capital Gazette Victims Fund. 

September 22: Casey Cares Rock and Roll Bash

Support the Casey Cares Foundation at the 16th annual Rock 'N' Roll Bash, 6:30 to 11:30 p.m. at Rams Head Live! in Baltimore. Casey Cares offers a variety of programs for families with critically ill children to help keep spirits high and create lasting memories. The organization recently arranged a charter fishing trip on the Chesapeake Bay for a seven-year-old battling Leukemia. By making donations and attending events like the Rock 'N' Roll Bash, you make trips like that one possible.

September 22: Smithsonian Museum Day at the St. Clement's Island Museum

Museum Day is a national celebration of boundless curiosity in which participating museums emulate the FREE admission policy at the Smithsonian Institution’s Washington DC-based museums. It represents a nationwide commitment to access, equity, and inclusion. The St. Clement's Island Museum in Coltons Point, MD, will be open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Get your free tickets online, and search for other participating museums in your area. 

September 22: The Mariners' Museum Gallery Crawl

6:30 to 9:30 p.m. at the Mariners' Museum and Park in Newport News, VA. Did you know only 2 percent of The Mariners’ Museum’s collections are on display? For one night only, you can get up close and personal with artifacts that have rarely, or possibly never, been on public display! View many rare artifacts from ports around the world up-close, and enjoy delicious bites and spirited beverages as you travel through each gallery and into another time and place. Tickets are $40 for museum members and $55 for non-members

September 22: VIMS Marine Life Day

12 to 4 p.m. at the Virginia Institute of Marine Science (VIMS)  Eastern Shore Laboratory in Wachapreague, VA. Join VIMS for a fun and educational day learning about marine life found on Virginia's Eastern Shore. view live displays of shellfish, crustaceans, fish, and sharks; learn about research conducted in the lab; use microscopes to get up close and personal with marine critters; interact with marine creatures in touch tanks; and participate in children's activities and crafts. RSVP online, FREE admission.

September 22-23: Yorktown Folk Festival

This festival features over 25 performing groups and soloists, as well as dance teams, face painting, children's crafts, sing-a-longs, food, and plenty more fun-filled family activities. 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and 12 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Watermen's Museum in Yorktown, VA. Free.
