Want To Make The Most Of Your Summer On The Chesapeake Bay?
This summer-long challenge will encourage you to visit waterfront restaurants and other points of interest around the Bay in order to earn points. Right now, the locations are pulled directly from our Dock Bar Guide. We expect this to grow throughout the summer and will continue to add stops as the challenge progresses. Visit our Dock Bar Guide for a full list of waterfront restaurants if you want a sneak peek before signing up (if we missed your favorite dock bar, email [email protected]).
The goal of this challenge is to explore the many wonderful towns around the Chesapeake Bay and support local businesses while you’re at it. When visiting restaurants, either by boat or by car, always be sure to take along a designated driver/skipper and please enjoy yourself responsibly. Each month we will share a leaderboard (for both participants and businesses with the most check-ins) in PropTalk and on our website. Share your adventures on social media by tagging @proptalkmagazine and using the hashtag #ProptalkBayChallenge. So, are you ready to See the Bay?
Sign Up For The See The Bay Challenge!
*When visiting waterfront restaurants, always have a designated skipper/driver at the helm. The See the Bay Challenge is about fun on the water — and safety is paramount.
How to Participate:
- Register at the link above/below.
- The challenge runs from May 15 to September 15.
- Cost: $10 (helps cover the cost of the program and shipping prizes)
- Check in using the See the Bay Challenge map on Proxi (see logging your progress below) and earn points by visiting participating locations.
Rules:
- When visiting a location, upload a photo of yourself that clearly shows you are at that location (i.e. with a restaurant menu, in front of a sign, etc.). If you do not want your face in the photo, grab a copy of PropTalk Magazine and take a photo of it at the location.
- You may visit locations multiple times, but only one check-in per location, per day is allowed.
- We will verify each photo and reserve the right to disqualify any photo that appears fraudulent. We reserve the right to adjust scoring if needed. Please be honest; it's supposed to be fun!
- By participating you allow PropTalk to share your photos in print and on our website/social media.
- Whether visiting locations by land or by water, always take along a designated skipper/driver.
- Check out our Terms and Conditions page for more details.
Scoring:
- Each location is assigned a point value. Most locations are worth one point. Businesses who are PropTalk supporters are worth more points that go towards your final score.
- The leaderboard is based on total accumulated points.
How to Earn Extra Points:
We want to thank these businesses for supporting PropTalk, and as a bonus, you get extra points for visiting them! We will continue to add new sponsors over the course of the season, so stay tuned to this page for new bonus point locations.

- Each participant who logs 25 (approved) points will win a PropTalk See the Bay Challenge T-shirt.
*Stay tuned for more details as we are still finalizing prizes. As we sign on new sponsors, we may have additional prizes to award.

This is our first year doing this challenge, and we are so excited to offer a new, interactive activity for our readers. As with any new program, there might be a few growing pains. Please be patient with us and feel free to reach out to me at [email protected] if you have any questions or problems. You may also email me if your favorite waterfront restaurant is not listed in the Challenge map or our Dock Bar Guide and we would be happy to add it. ~Kaylie Jasinski
