Throughout the summer, Jug Bay Wetlands Sanctuary will be conducting fish surveys to identify fish species in various aquatic habitats, determine the relative abundance and geographical and seasonal distribution of fish species, and monitor the health of the Patuxent River and its tributaries using fish diversity. Volunteers are needed to catch, measure, identify, and release fish. Other responsibilities include, hiking and wading in mud and water, recording data accurately, and bending and handling fish. All volunteers will participate under the guidance of staff and trained volunteers. For more information call (410) 741-9330 or visit their
