
Spike Mendelsohn first competed on Top Chef: Chicago Season 4, where he was sent home just shy of the finale and came back to compete on Top Chef. You may have seen him recently in the series "Life After Top Chef," or perhaps you're familiar with his Washington, DC, restaurants We The Pizza, and Good Eats.
In any event, Mendelsohn recently filmed a short YouTube video in Annapolis, where he tried his had an Maryland crab cakes. We're not sure we agree with sauteing the crab cakes in olive oil (PropTalk prefers butter), but we were happy to see that the young chef didn't contaminate the crab cakes with things such as red peppers, celery, or other crab cake no-nos.
