PropTalk's editor had the chance to test out the 2024 Sea-Doo Spark Trixx, which offers some new features while staying true to the core Spark traits: affordability, ease of ownership, and ease of use.

The second generation of the Spark and Spark Trixx refine the ride with smoother lines, revised seating options, and a fresh range of customization options. Spark's have always been nimble and light with an impressive power-to-weight ratio thanks to its easy, responsive handling and strong, reliable Rotax 900 ACE engine. The BRP-exclusive Intelligent Brake and Reverse (iBR), the first ever watercraft brake and reverse system, is now standard on all Spark models.

iBR is Sea-Doo's on-water brake. According to Sea-Doo: iBR-equipped craft start in a neutral mode, with the iBR system deflecting forward thrust just enough to keep the craft stationary. Riders can then choose to go into forward by pulling the traditional righthand throttle or choose from neutral or reverse by pulling the lefthand-mounted iBR lever. Never is a rider required to take a hand off the handlebars to reach for a console-mounted reverse lever and never are a rider’s eyes taken off the water and surroundings. Instead, the watercraft now has the intuitive feeling of a boat’s gears, making tasks like docking, backing away from the launch ramp, or navigating a crowded marina simple and stress-free.

New Sea-Doo Spark Features

4.5-inch Digital Gauge:

A fully digital interactive multifunction display in a compact package. The orange/red backlight offers excellent visibility in all lighting conditions. All Spark models now include Eco mode, so riders can maximize fuel range to extend the adventure. Intuitive access to essential vehicle information riders need including speedometer, tachometer, vehicle hours, and more.

Portable Sound System (Optional):

BRP’s revolutionary 50-watt, Bluetooth-compatible portable audio system for Sea-Doo Spark models has been completely redesigned. The rugged new styling is more robust and saltwater resistant and features a new heavy duty mounting bracket. Improved sound quality on and off the water, featuring the ability to pair more than one device together, for bigger sound at the sandbar or the pool. Two new modes provide a
more versatile listening experience by selecting “ride” mode for a better experience on-water or “home” mode for relaxed rides or off-water use. Convenient portability means people can continue listening to music on the dock, in the cabin, on the beach, or anywhere else you choose. The system has a 24-hour battery life at 50 percent volume (according to BRP internal testing at optimal conditions).

Watertight Glove Box:

Updated watertight glove box design features more space with dedicated cell phone storage. Large enough to fit most cell phones with room for other small personal belongings. Keeps everything dry and easily within reach as you ride.

Extended Range VTS with Trixx Mode (on Spark Trixx models):

The Spark Trixx’s Extended Range Variable Trim System enables riders to precisely and naturally control speed, pitch, and positioning as they explore the limits of the machine. Updates to the system in 2024 include improved control to more easily initiate tail stands. The new Trixx Mode unlocks a fresh inventory of tricks like reverse donuts and nose dives to level up the entertainment.

Storage and LinQ Accessory Integration:

Revised design allows for 30 percent more front storage space for those who take the Convenience Package. LinQ accessory storage is quick and simple to add with the flip of a lever on any Spark or Spark Trixx model. Both models are also equipped to seamlessly customize the ride with unique LinQ Lite accessories like docking fenders and POV camera mounts.

Revised Spark Ergonomics (seat, reboarding handles, footwell traction):

Redesigned seating and knee locking areas improve overall comfort and provide a more stable-feeling ride. Smoother lines and a cleaner top hull design with multiple integrated hand hold locations make reboarding much easier. Textured footwells and rear swim platform improve grip and confidence whether you’re on the go or boarding and loading accessories.
