Earlier this afternoon, around 12 p.m., the Maryland Natural Resources Police (NRP) reported on Twitter that they, along with the Anne Arundel County Fire Department and U.S. Coast Guard Mid-Atlantic were responding to a two-boat collision in the Chesapeake Bay near Thomas Point.

The NRP has just released the update that there were no serious injuries in the collision between a charter fishing boat out of Kent Island and a J/105 sailboat out of Annapolis. According to the NRP, the US Coast Guard will take the lead on the investigation.

Stay tuned as more updates become available, and stay safe this weekend. This was a serious accident and we are very thankful that no one was seriously injured.
