A Lubbock, TX, man named Eulberg wanted to make something special for Christmas dinner two years ago. His wife was a fan of the horror writer H.P. Lovecraft, and she suggested making a Turduckin-esque meal based on Cthulu, "A monster of vaguely anthropoid outline, but with an octopus-like head whose face was a mass of feelers, a scaly, rubbery-looking body, prodigious claws on hind and fore feet, and long, narrow wings behind."

A sketch of Cthulhu by H. P. Lovecraft in 1934. Heading into the supermarket, the Eulberg and his wife Jennifer Robledo found a turkey, some crab legs, and an octopus. Upon baking, they put some bacon on top for a "flavoring trick." The picture was first posted online at Reddit, prompting readers to react with a variety of expressions (most commonly "I would never eat that."). But Eulberg says that the concoction was tasty enough to demand a repeat performance the next year, with a few tweaks. "The next year I made a Cthicken; the same thing using squid instead of octopus and a chicken." Picture by Rusty Eulberg via Gothamist Sounds great. We can't decide what we think of Eulberg's parties. He tells Gothamist that they're planning to "do a full-on Cthulhu-themed dinner next Halloween. I don't know how we can make the turkey better, but maybe we can make tentacle cupcakes with gummy worms. And maybe deep fry the whole thing." He may be totally genius. We haven't decided yet. Read the whole thing at Gothamist, if you need more.
