As we move into summer, waterfront concert series can be found at waterfront venues all around the Bay. And nothing quite says summer like live music by the water on a warm July evening, so make sure to put these on your radar. For more events, visit our calendar.
Tides and Tunes Summer Concert Series
The Annapolis Maritime Museum (AMM) offers 10 weeks of live music from rock to folk to jazz at the museum’s waterfront campus during its Tides and Tunes Summer Concert Series: 7 p.m. Thursday nights, June 14 to August 16. Concerts are free, though donations are gratefully accepted, and food and spirits will be available for purchase.
Shanty Beach Bar Summer Concert Series
The Shanty Beach Bar at Tolchester Marina in Chestertown, MD, will host live music acts every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Come by boat or by car, bring a lawn chair or blanket, and relax on the shores of the Chesapeake Bay. Find a full concert lineup online. Note that certain concerts require tickets. You can buy a $125 bundle ticket to get into the three headliner concerts (Shenandoah, Kentucky Headhunters, and Eric Paslay) at a discounted price.
Calvert Marine Museum Waterside Music Series
For this year’s Waterside Music Series, the Calvert Marine Museum (CMM) in Solomons, MD, will host three featured performances. Jake Owen and Chris Janson just performed on June 1, and coming up George Thorogood & The Destroyers will perform Friday, August 10, followed by Brad Paisley Thursday, August 23. Proceeds from these concerts support the education and preservation efforts at CMM. No purses, bags, camera bags, or backpacks will be permitted on the grounds during performances.
Groovin’ in the Park
The Deltaville Maritime Museum’s casual, outdoor concert series, Groovin’ in the Park, runs every fourth Saturday from May to September in Deltaville, VA. Concerts are held on the waterfront stage overlooking Mill Creek, and in the event of rain, concerts will be held in the Events Pavilion. Bring your own lawn chair, cooler, and picnic, or visit the food concession next to the Tea House. Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door; children under 12 are free.
