"Many of the people who live along the Chesapeake Bay make their living out on the water," Steve Hammond from WBOC says in the video shown below. The video, from WBOC's website, discusses the Department of Natural Resource's new initiative's goal to try to show chefs across the state where the seafood that they use in their restaurant is coming from. The Department does this by taking the chefs out on the water to see exactly where the seafood is coming from and by having the chefs talk directly to the fisherman who catch the seafood. This project is also about showing support for the fisherman who are catching the seafood. Another benefit of chefs knowing where their seafood is coming from, is that more restaurants will be convinced to buy local which "will benefit the economy, the environment, and the chef."
